Last week after Frances moved north, we set an all-time record for rainfall in a 24 hour period.
It was 3.6 inches, today as of 4 PM the rainfall was 4.16 inches and going strong. There is serious flooding in areas usually prone to some problems and West Virginia, our neighbor to the south, is in very bad shape state-wide.
The anticipated direction of the storm was to move further east and remain more south of us, but a front that was to have sagged down and eastward out of Canada failed to move. My lights have been flickering a bit and the newly seeded yard is in puddles. The latest weather forecasts are optimistically saying it will stop after midnight. Noon tomorrow, as well as 6 PM, are 'after midnight' so I remain less than enthusiastic about the predictions.
The mulching and general look of the project is good, but I can see things that need adjustment and after winter has its way with freezes and thaws there may be a lot more tweaking to be done. Maybe some more pictures tomorrow. For now, look in the AsparaGus Patch for some rainy day previews.
